About Paris Shirley
When I was 10 years old, my parents told me if I wanted a car when I turned 16, then I would need to pay for half of it. I spent the next six years selling cupcakes and babysitting, saving most of my money for the car I purchased when I was 16. Those early lessons in stewardship, budgeting, and goal-setting sparked a passion for personal finance and a desire to help others live healthier financial lives.
I graduated from Dallas Baptist University in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in finance. In college, my studies intertwined my faith with financial principles, and I learned that we are called to steward what God has given us in a diligent way that reflects His heart. During my senior year, I was able to serve as my sorority’s treasurer, managing budgets and dues. This taught me that while not everyone loves a spreadsheet as much as I do, I truly love helping people with their finances.
Having known Scott and Kaimey through church for 8 years, I reached out for an internship in 2025. That summer role turned into a year-long position and, eventually, a full-time offer upon graduation (I said yes!). I’m now actively working toward my CFP® certification while supporting the Avant team and our clients. It’s been the perfect transition into the professional world.
When I am not studying, you can find me running, golfing, swimming, playing pickleball or going for long walks. I have a major sweet tooth, so I spend a lot of my time exploring Austin’s best coffee and ice cream shops. Being in Austin keeps me close to my family and my church community, which has provided me with incredible friendships and a place to call home.
